HDFC Bank opens 101 more gold loan desks in Uttar Pradesh Region

•             Deputy Chief Minister Keshav Prasad Maurya inaugurates new service

•             The Bank now has more than 350 gold loan branches in the state


Lucknow, November 1, 2022: HDFC Bank, India’s leading private sector bank, today announced that it has added 101 Gold Loan desks to its branch network in Uttar Pradesh region. With this addition, there are over 350 branches in the state which will now be able to offer gold loan.

This facility will allow people to make the most of their idle Gold with minimal documentation and transparent charges. Gold Loans will be available for tenures starting from 3 months up to 24 months. HDFC Bank offers flexible tenure and repayment options to ensure customer convenience. The Bank is working towards making all its branches capable of processing gold loans by end of the current financial year.

Gold loan applicants include a varied segment ranging from both salaried as well as self-employed categories. People exploring quick loans for a short duration with minimal documentation will benefit from this facility.

At a ceremony organised in the city, Deputy Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Shri Keshav Prasad Maurya inaugurated the Gold Loan desks.  Also present on the occasion were Mr Anil Khugshal, Regional Rural Head, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand and other senior bank executives.

Gold loans allow people to get fast cash with minimal documentation. Loan against idle gold is useful to meet financial needs or personal exigencies. These branches will facilitate an effective way to raise capital for short-term as well as long term needs and this will help people across the state,” Mr Anil Khugshal, Regional Rural Head, Uttar Pradesh and Uttarakhand said.

The demand for gold loans has been growing across India in the past 2 years. The Bank is planning to cater to this demand by opening more such desks across the country. Of the 101 desks launched today, 90 are in Uttar Pradesh and 11 are in Uttarakhand.
